Location & Structure: Lonar Crater is a place which is located at Maharashtra's Buldhana district. About 52000 to 55000 years ago, a lake was formed due to a meteorite, and it is known as Lonar lake. Firstly, It is believed that the lake was formed due to volcanoes, but With the help of later revision, it was found that the lake was formed due to the impact of a large object outside the earth, for example, a comet or an asteroid. The diameter of the lake is about 1.2 kilometers, and its base is 150 mtr down towards Earth core from the normal ground level. This happened cause the earth was hit by a huge meteorite. Its metamorphosis is like a big pit. There is a lot of evidence of basalt rock in Maharashtra, that's why even the lake is made of basalt, this rock is known as water resistant, so the water of the lake can be drained slowly. Travel: I had came to Sambhajinagar related to my work. Literally I had no idea that Aurangabad has so many amazing caves. After Inquiring at the hotel where I was staying, I found out that Aurangabad has caves, as well I got some more information about these caves online and decided to visit them. Firstly I went to 'Bibi ka Makbara' from Aurangabad Central Bus Stand. After seeing enjoyed beauty of 'Bibi Ka Maqbara', I decided not to go directly near these caves to explore more details. I got down at Hanuman Tekadi,which is 2 km ahead from Auto. From 'Hanuman Tekadi' these caves start to appear. Today I am going to Explore ancient caves history which is carved before 2000 years at Maharashtara, India known as Aurangabad Caves. Aurangabad is a city located in the geographical west of Maharashtra, roughly we can say in Madhya Maharashtra. This city has a big history. The city is surrounded by many ancient temples, forts and caves, one example of which is the Ghrishneshwar Temple, along with the Verul and Ajanta Caves, which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites and hence Aurangabad is called the tourism capital of Maharashtra. Chaitya Cave But if someone tells you that there is a replica of Ajantha and Verul caves in Aurangabad, so you will not believe it, but wait a little, these Aurangabad caves are just 7 to 8 km from Aurangabad known as Aurangabad Caves, they are directly related to Ajantha Verul caves How??
